IGV Is Committed to Non-Violent Activism

We at Indivisible Greater Vancouver (IGV) strongly believe that peaceful, non-violent activism offers social movements the most power to effect change. Through peaceful protests, we set an example of making our voices heard with dignity, empowered by truth. IGV does not condone intimidation, threats, vandalism, interference with access to a business, or any other lawless actions. If instigators or our opponents attempt to violate our commitment to non-violence, we will try to de-escalate them and will call law enforcement if needed to shut down such unauthorized activity.

Community Get-together

Community Get-together

We're excited about enthusiasm among our members for informal, frequent gatherings to build community. This is our first such gathering in 2025, and we plan to offer these weekly at the dining area of New Seasons in Fisher's Landing, just the left of their coffee bar and desserts area.

Usually we gather for at least an hour, which gives us time for taking action through postcard writing or other tasks. But our meeting this Saturday is immediately followed by one of our allied organizations, Whole WA, which advocates for universal healthcare in our state. They'll meet from 11:00 a.m. -- 12:30 p.m., and you're invited to stay for their event. They'll be discussing their goals for 2025 and how you can get involved.

2025 Kickoff Brainstorming Meeting!

SAVE THE DATE: JAN. 15 BRAINSTORMING MEETING!

Many of you have been with us since our formation in 2017. And, some of you have reached out to us for the first time since the 2024 election seeking a community for collective resistance to the Trump agenda and MAGA movement.

So, we invite all of you to participate in our 2025 kickoff brainstorming meeting. This will be a very interactive community gathering to co-create our 2025 strategy. We will:

  • Use the national Indivisible 2025 guide as a reference point (If you haven’t already done so, we recommend reading the guide before this meeting: https://www.indivisiblegreatervancouver.org/new-indivisible-guide),

  • Share some thoughts from the planning team,

  • And most important of all, seek your input. We want to know what issues you most care about and your ideas to address these issues.

We will also describe some volunteer opportunities where we can really use your help to sustain and grow the local Indivisible movement that we’ve built.

And, there will be time to just hang out together and get to know one another.

So, PLEASE join us! Come ready to share your passions and ideas! And, if you are symptomatic or recently sick, please wear a mask.
